Tourism Exchange in Australia

Tourism Exchange Australia (TXA)

V3's Tourism Exchange model has forever changed the way tourism is marketed.

Tourism Exchange Australia is the national booking exchange supported by all State and Federal Government Tourism Organisations. V3's OBX platform, subsequently branded TXA, was selected in a global tender by Australian GTOs to give their industry a competitive marketing advantage by making their products both visible and bookable on a multitude of Distributors, and to facilitate a more cost-effective way to market the industry.

TXA is an alliance formed between V3 and the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW), to deliver a national, inclusive booking exchange called Tourism Exchange Australia (TXA).

The ATDW collects tourism content from all Australian States and Territories, and publishes it on multiple websites, while V3’s OBX technology enables suppliers to connect with live content, rates and availability for consumers to book, confirm and pay immediately.

TXA is an open, inclusive booking exchange, that incorporates inventory and pricing from multiple TXA Connected Booking Systems, which is automatically distributed to a multitude of websites.

Here’s how Government Tourism Organisations describe the Exchange:

"Tourism Exchange Australia is a world leading initiative and presents huge opportunities and benefits to Australian tourism. We’ve worked closely with V3, our TXA alliance partner, to bring the objective of an open, inclusive and commercially neutral distribution platform for the industry to reality. The technology and model puts Australian tourism in a strong position to respond quickly to new distribution opportunities”
Liz Ward, CEO, Australian Tourism Data Warehouse

"We launched TXA in the Northern Territory just over a year ago and the results have well exceeded our expectations. We’ve been able to significantly boost Distribution visibility across the breadth and depth of Territory tourism suppliers using the V3’s Exchange technology. It’s facilitated literally millions of dollars of extra bookings into our industry."
Ian Crawshaw, Manager E Enablement, Tourism Northern Territory.

"We partner with V3 in our Tas e-Connect program and are delighted with its success. We’ve been able to bring e-commerce capability deep into our industry resulting in an explosion of Distribution options, strong online bookings flow and an industry now much better equipped to prosper in the online environment."
Pam Von Stieglitz Head of Distribution, Tourism Tasmania

"SATC has been part of TXA from early days and we’ve experienced the benefits of the Exchange model from every perspective. Bringing together enhanced distribution capability with collaboratively organised and e-commerce enabled supply is the model that has positioned SA tourism businesses strongly to capitalise on the booming growth in online marketing of tourism."
