Building on the success of Visit Britain’s Discover England Platform Pilot Project, V3 and Rainmaker are very pleased to announce that V3’s OBX™ technology and Tourism Exchange model has been awarded the contract to deliver the tourism technology platform and business model for the UK Government’s Discover England initiative.
The contract will be administered by Visit Britain. The initiative aims to support the tourism industry in developing and presenting world-class bookable English tourism products to the world.
Visit Britain will use V3’s OBX™ Business to Business (B2B) tourism platform to provide the British tourism industry with a cost effective and efficient distribution technology and business model to deliver high quality content, rates and availability for ecommerce enabled bookable product to international and domestic markets. This umbrella solution will improve global online visibility for British tourism products and boost Britain’s online tourism profile and that of British suppliers, cities, destinations, and regions.
The model addresses the needs of myriad British participants including all categories of suppliers, international and domestic distributors, DEF projects, DMOs and their users.
The platform to be branded TXGB is scheduled to be live by 31 March for industry launch mid-year after extensive third party testing.
